Match scores funds for children’s hospice

They may be more used to wearing a suit than a football strip, but a team from Franklyn Financial Management (FFM) still gave it their best shot in a charity match.
The game, sponsored by solicitors Clarke Willmott LLP, raised over£4,240 for the Donna Louise Trust – a hospice that cares for children and young people across Staffordshire and Cheshire – in front of a crowd of 200 spectators.
Stoke City legends Carl Dickinson, Danny Higginbotham, Ricardo Fuller and Liam Lawrence joined club staff members take on a Franklyn Financial Management XI beating the, Congleton-based wealth managers 9-2.
The FFM team included two players from Clarke Willmott, Chris Longbottom, a partner at the firm’s Manchester office, and Mark Scotney, a senior associate in Birmingham.
Said Mark: “FFM organised an incredible day. It was amazing experience to play on a proper pitch with the likes of Ricardo Fuller and most importantly to raise a significant amount of money for wonderful a charity.
“The support at the stadium was tremendous with many family and friends of all the players, local businesses and Stoke fans cheering us on.
“The Donna Louise is a truly amazing charity that works tirelessly to help children and young adults with life limiting conditions and their families through exceptionally challenging times.”
The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice opened in Trentham Lakes in 1999 providing palliative care to children, young people and their families.
